This is the best way to carry I've ever seen, just recieved it, very quick service on your part!!!!!!!. I only carry when I have a need to, and your product is an all season holster. I could wash my car with out a shirt on and still carry, it may sound funny, but it's true. It's time to have law abiding people the right to carry, not just the criminal. Once again, thank you for your great product......

Dear Charlie;

Just a note to let you know that all is well with my new Smart Carry after about 3 weeks of use. I ordered it for the largest carry gun I have, a Ruger P90 and pin it up for the smaller ones.

There is no perfect way to conceal a large frame auto-loader on a small frame person (5'-6", 160 lbs), and there are some problems, none of which are the fault of the holster. It does, however, just kinda go down there and disappear!

I have been wearing it to work, and to say I am active would be an understatement! I am up and down, in and out, over and under, pushing and shoving, pulling and tugging, reaching and stretching, bending and lifting over the course of my shortest day of about 13 hours, all the way through to my longest of about 24 hours. The first time I wore it, I had to take it off after about only 9 hours, but now that I am more accustomed to it, I leave it on for my whole work day. (I should note that I don't work every day like most people!) Sometimes it pushes into my tummy and sometimes it pinches, but with a little practice in the way I move, the discomfort can be controlled or even eliminated.

Thanks....! It really is as good as you say it is!

Charlie,

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. It went crazy here, 2 of our officers are on leave and one guy got sick, so we had to pull double shifts for a couple of days. Oh well .... :-)

I received the holster on the weekend, thanks a lot ! I played around with it for awhile and I think I can handle it pretty well. Only the Jetfire's barrel and trigger-guard fits inside the pocket, the handle is sticking out completely. Although my jeans are pretty tight around my belly, I can reach for the gun without a problem. I can even draw it while being seated in the patrol car. Works for me !! (you can quote me if you want) ;-).

Singer Sewing also made the 1911?? Wow, I'd love to have one of those pistols.... I can imagine that they are hard to find, even in the US.

The russians are selling a lot of "WW2 leftovers", as I call them. They were supplied as "war help" to the russkies in 43/44 but never used, since the russians didn't have the .45ACP ammo and were to stupid to produce it. Maybe I get one of them, they are about US$300 over here, never used, brand new in box.

Good to hear that you have some "pre-ban" clips for your pistol. Can't hurt to have a little "firepower".... :-)

The Mauser is really nice, and hard to find, even over here. My grandfather had the good old 08, since he was only a airforce guy.

Banning guns in definitely not a good idea. We can see the same movement over here. It's getting harder and harder for the law abiding citizen to obtain a firearm, but the criminals don't care about laws. They get their guns somewhere else and kill innocent people with them. I wouldn't mind more people owning guns here, that would create less work for us cops. We are 8500 officers in Munich and have to protect a population of 1.5 million people....

Although I'm in Germany, I'm still a NRA member.... :-)

Well, gotta run for now ! Thanks again ! Maybe I can come up with some order from the other officers. :-)

Take care, stay safe !

M. M. - Munich, Germany

Webmaster note: We thought these comments from a German police officer would be of interest to all. His remarks on the 1911 and banning guns are from the e-mails he exchanged with Charlie when he placed his order. Charlie's dad brought a P-38 built by Mauser (BYF proof marks) back from WWII. M. M. joked in one e-mail, "You've got my grandfather's gun!"

To the good people of SmartCarry,

Thank you for such a simple, effective answer to the concealed weapon problem. Here in Florida, where common attire consists of shorts and a t-shirt, an effective and comfortable method for concealing a gun has eluded me for years. Ankle holsters are useless when wearing shorts, hip-bags are inappropriate in the business environment, and in-the-pant holsters still require some type of outer garment to drape over the belt. I've had SmartCarry for about two weeks now. I have worn it now with shorts and with pants, including denim jeans. I can truly say that my Taurus .45 is unnoticeable through my pants. If that weren't enough, I can sit, stand, or bend without anything 'catching'. I actually don't feel the holster and gun after a few minutes in the morning after dressing. I forget that I'm wearing it throughout the day. 'Taking a leak', on the other hand has taken some getting used to. I have found the only way to do this is to go into a stall and 'drop trou' in order to temporarily reposition the holster. This is a small price to pay for the peace of mind that I now have. I have had a CCW for 8 years in Florida, but rarely carried because there was no one real solution that I could comfortably and consistently use. Now, with the SmartCarry, I have a single holster that I can use with all my clothes in any environment, and I have only the SmartCarry to drill drawing from concealment. It's comfortable, it's practical, and it works. Thank you again.

D. K. - Sunrise, FL

Webmaster note: We've e-mailed D. K. and advised him to re-read the instruction sheet that came with the holster and to practice in the privacy of his bathroom. Charlie carries a full size 1911 and has never had to go into a stall to urinate! It can be done, quite easily, with one hand only, but, like the instructions say, it does take a few "practice" runs to get it down pat!

Charlie,

I have had my "SmartCarry" for all of three months now. I am a heavy equipment salesman. I drive 600-800 miles a week. I am in and out of my vehicle (lots!), up and down looking and running equipment, etc.,. I dress casual, so I don't wear a coat or suit to cover other types of holsters. I started with a IWB and had too much of a "printing" problem with most tighter clothes.

In February my wife and I went to your GREAT reciprocity state of Fla. Did Walt Disney World, Sea World and Cypress Gardens, and I carried every where, (that I could legally). I have a Taurus PT-140. Being from the northern states, and LOVING to be away from the snow it was T-Shirts (tucked in) everyday! Never had a problem, any where!

Only ONE complaint:

Have you ever been walking into a store and have that "I forgot something" feeling and reach back and feel your back pocket for your wallet ? With this holster, I sometimes find myself wondering if I remembered my pistol!

Thank You and KEEP SAFE !!

Hi Charlie,

Got my SmartCarry on Friday. Took a little while to get it where it was supposed to be (riding low), and today I went to the store with my Taurus PT111 while wearing workout shorts.

By the way, if no one has mentioned this to you guys, the reason I had to look for a new way to carry is because I am a diabetic. Now, diabetics can have issues with the outmost extremities, especially the feet. I was carrying in an ankle holster, but my doctor and I decided that it "might" restrict the blood flow and cause nerve damage prematurely, and since diabetics already have an increased risk of nerve damage, it wasn't a good idea.

I was glad to find that the SmartCarry works a lot better anyway.

Charlie, another review to add to your website :)

Ordered a smartcarry from you a month or so ago, and to put it mildly I fully expected to take advantage of your excellent return policy! I didn't expect a holster like this would work well.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised! after wearing the smartcarry a couple times, I was amazed. I only had one pair of pants that it would not work in, and those were way too tight anyways and ended up in the trash!

I thought that "printing" would be a problem and I would be walking around looking happy to see everyone. Not so! Even when I was concerned about printing and thought there was a huge bulge, (as you state on the website, looking down is the WORST view possible), my girlfriend said she couldn't tell whether I was carrying or not! my Glock 27 simply disappears while wearing it! Definitely great for those times when a tucked in shirt or other very discreet method of carry is necessary!

Thanks for a great product!

I ordered a SmartCarry about a year ago for my Ruger SP101. With a 2 inch barrel, the Ruger is small, but it's on the heavy side, and the revolver chamber makes it wider and bulkier than I would like.

So I'm going to go VERY small and purchase a Kel Tec P32 (9.5 ozs loaded!). My question is, will the tiny P32 fit in a holster sized for my Ruger? I know you mention using safety pins on your website to size-down holsters, but the P32 seems to be abnormally small, so I thought I'd ask.

By the way, you have one hell of a product. Comfort, DEEP concealment, and quick draw times. I've been very impressed.

Thanks,

Charlie,

Ahhh, decisions, decisions. I'll go with the large if, as you say, it will carry the P99 with or without the laser comfortably and with no affect on draw time. If I ever decide to move to a smaller weapon (yeah, right) I'll just come back and give you more business!

M1911A? Naw. When I go shooting with my father he uses his and we trade off between rounds for variety. If I went M1911, the old guy would have to go buy a new gun :-) They are real nice guns though. The P99 has that modern look though, and I have to represent the next generation (grin, duck, run).

Thanks for the great attention!

To SmartCarry Staff:

Just received my SmartCarry holster today and am very satisfied with all its aspects. Construction is top quality (this is coming from someone who has made his own hunting clothes and for others for a long time) and well designed. It fits me very good and functions as you said it would, in fact, it was hard to believe, until I tried it! As you already know, some people get real nervous if they discover your carrying. No problem with the SmartCarry, they have know idea you're carrying and things remain in normal mode. Thanks for the great product and keep up the good work! I will be sure to promote your product at each and every opportunity!

Hi Charlie,

My 4th SmartCarry arrived 2 days ago. This one was for my Beretta 92 FS. Like I told you before I'm very skinny for a 41 year old. The SmartCarry you made for my Beretta 92 fits like a glove. Also, the gun is fairly heavy, but with the placement of the SmartCarry I can hardly feel it. I've used a holster with my Model 92, and it just kills my hips, but the SmartCarry somehow takes the weight off the pistol. As far as concealing, with dress/suit pants, it can't be seen. With jeans, tight jeans on a skinny guy mind you, I would need to wear a shirt to cover the top. Readers keep this in mind, the Beretta 92 FS is about 8" overall, so its a big pistol, and I only weigh 130 LBS. I NEVER would of thought ANYTHING would conceal it as great as the SmartCarry. I just can't mention the fact enough, that for a skinny person, it was impossible to find a comfortable holster, UNTIL the SmartCarry came along. Anyway, Charlie Thanks Once Again for making such an excellent product. It IS the Best on the market!!

Charlie & Carolyn,

Just wanted you to know I've received the holster and am very well pleased with it. This is the only carry method that allows me to carry my 9mm in a way that's undetectable.

I exercise regularly on a workout machine and decided to wear the holster and 9mm yesterday to determine freedom of movement, and could do the whole routine without needing for removal.

Also enjoyed the chat with you when I ordered. Ya'll (Arkansas term) are very nice to talk and do business with.

Thanks again,

Hi Charlie,

I just wanted to let you know that the SmartCarry you made for me fits perfectly. This is THE MOST comfortable holster I have EVER worn. I've spent hundreds of dollars on belly bands, ankle holsters etc., and NOTHING compares, or even comes close to the comfort and ease of use of the SmartCarry. Before I mainly used a belly band. I tried putting on the belly band today, and I couldn't even wear it for a minute. As I told you I'm a skinny guy and concealing a gun is quite difficult, but with the SmartCarry, this is not a problem. My wife was also used to me wearing a belly band, when she hugged me yesterday, she asked how come I wasn't wearing my gun :) Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that your product is The BEST I have ever come across. Feel free to post this on your web site. Just please leave my email address off.

Thanks Again for TOTAL Comfort & Ease of Use!!!!

Below is the e-mail we sent Jxx when we shipped his holster to him:

Jxx,

Sorry about the delay in getting your holster completed, but the extra small size Security model SmartCarry for a Beretta 21A and strapping for a 30" hip circumference (I put a tape on the strapping and it should be an excellent fit, and don't forget to stretch the elastic when you put it on for a more comfortable wear) will ship tomorrow via first class mail. Thanks for your order and trust you have a safe and prosperous 2002!

Charlie

Webmaster's note: We've included our e-mail to J. when his holster shipped just to let our readers know that we do not charge any extra price for making an extra short strapping length. Charlie, it arrived this morning, by First Class Mail postmarked December 28th from Zip 33777, obviously the one you just shipped last week.

Fits like a glove, and I immediately tucked the Mustang and a clip in for a day full of running around, getting in and out of the car many times.

TOTALLY COMFORTABLE and at times I forgot it was there. I can't imagine another hidden holster that would be as comfortable. Being retired in Texas, I usually don't have a jacket or coat on and I have never found a comfortable ankle rig. You sure found the answer!

If the one mailed earlier shows up, I will send it back to you. Thanks again for the quick replacement.

H. W. - Sandy Springs, TX

Webmaster's note: H. ordered an extra small SmartCarry® for his Colt Mustang on Dec. 6 and we shipped it on Dec. 7, but it never arrived. When he contacted us, we immediately sent a replacement SmartCarry®. That's what H. is referring to in the first paragraph of his e-mail. We'd like to mention that we told H. when he placed his order that you can run or jog as fast and as long as you wish and SmartCarry® won't interfere with you in any way. Now H. knows, first hand, what we meant! And I'd like to add that you can also do all of the above with a full size, 52.25 oz. (loaded weight) M1911A-1, like Charlie carries!
